Penfield has long been a staple for premium American born outerwear since the mid 70's. Year after year they prove how strong their presence is in the crowded ever expanding market they helped shape.
We had a chance to get our hands on a few of our favorite pieces from their latest F/W '14 Collection to showcase for you here in this spotlight feature. If you haven't already owned a piece from Penfield consider this your introduction and fair warning that you will not find a more solid piece of outerwear as soon as the temperature starts to drop.
The Elk pullover anorak jacket is a simple throwback to a classic design and easy to wear piece that fits in well with the Fall weather. At first glance it may look more of a thin layering piece but upon further looking you notice right away that the Elk is deceivingly warm and can easily keep you not only dry from the elements but warm from fairly cold temperatures. The split two tone color blocking sets off the jacket perfectly and the added splash of red on the inside is a virtual cherry on top.
The Clarkdale is an easy to wear versatile shell jacket with pockets for days and a slim fitting close to body cut. A full 100% Nylon Taslon which can easily wick away water without worry. Rubber cuff adjusters were one of our favorite touches on the Clarkdale as little touches like this are what make pieces like this stand out amongst the rest. The Clarkdale is truly an all around top pick for a Fall essential jacket.
Lastly the Rockford short down jacket ends things with a timeless classic. The iconic silhouette features a 80/20 quilted down trapping. In Lehman's terms its going to keep your ass warm no matter how low the temperature drops. The jacket remains slim and doesn't suffer from the dreaded bulky feel that other brands tend to go with in this silhouette. The buffalo plaid shoulders and black corduroy accents around the collar and cuffs cap off the jacket perfectly.
