TODAYSHYPE Spotlight: adidas Originals SL Loop Runner
Unless you've been living under a rock you should already know by now how much of a splash adidas has been making both in the sneaker and pop culture world. Several all new silhouettes that have become very successful for the brand paired with their undeniably impactful signings of some of pop cultures most powerful and influential names have taken the three stripes crew to a whole new stratosphere.
This month they released yet another new model which pulls inspiration from one of their most historic shoes the "SL 72". They call this updated version the "SL Loop Runner" and we thankfully got our hands on one of our favorite colorways available at the moment.
The shoe itself has some of the best design cues and lines we have seen in recent memory. The way they meshed some of their new technology and ideas together and still managed to let some of the original "SL 72" influence shine through really is a testament to the team over at adidas. The upper sports a mixture of buttery suede overlays and a neoprene like material underneath that is prime for the current warm Summer months.
The peeled back three stripes lacing system can easily be overlooked at first glance but is easily one of our favorite parts about the shoe especially on this monotone black/white colorway. Minimal branding at the tongue, heel and mid panel finish off the shoe quite nice if you ask us.
All in all this is definitely one of our favorite releases up to the mid point of 2014 and we can easily seeing this becoming a big rival not only for Nike's Roshe Run but also for adidas's own ZX Flux since all three come in around the $80 mark. Make sure to hit the adidas online store directly here to purchase a pair now and continue below for our full gallery of the shoe as well.
