SOLEHYPE - THE BIGGEST NAMES IN THE SNEAKER WORLD - INTERVIEW WITH @swaggergirljp

TH: First off can we get a little intro for the people out there who aren't familiar? Name, Hometown and Occupation?

YUI: My name is Yui, I work with an insurance company and I live in Japan.

TH: Anyone who looks at your Instagram can see right away your a big Jordan head. Do you remember what the first Jordan was that got you hooked into the sneaker culture?

YUI: My 1st pair was the 2001 Concord XI. They are caught my heart the first time I saw them I fell in love.

TH: There are a lot of stereotypes that come with being a woman in the sneaker world. What's the biggest one that pisses you off the most?

YUI: I don't care if your a real sneakerhead vs. not real sneakerhead. I think Passion is the most important thing.

TH: If you were a Nike executive for the day what would be the one specific shoe/colorway you would retro right immediately and why?

YUI: I would make good quality leather shoe. Like the Jordan 1's from 1985. Not shoes that smell like plastic when you open the box. I wish they would retro the BHM 3's GS colorway and the Mocha 3's. Sacramento 10's they are super sexy.

TH: With 2013 coming to a end what has been your favorite release of this year and what future release do you have marked on your calendar as a must have?

YUI: For 2013 it was the Laney 5's! A lot of 5's released this year but the Laney's were my favorite. For 2014 I'm waiting for the Black Cat 4's, the Lightni
ng 4's and the Maroon 6's.

TH: Sneakers aside for a second, what are some of your other biggest influences? Favorite movie, music and someone historical you look up to that inspires you.

YUI: I love 90's Hip Hop. My favorite movie's are Scarface, Space Jam, Black and White, Belly, Sex and the City, Pineapple Express and Honey! I love NYC street kids and street fashion.

TH: Do you have any words of wisdom or advice for the other females in the sneaker world?

YUI: Women and Men are different. But we have some heat. Stay positive and keep a good collection.
I don't like the same thing as everything else. You should find your original world. I'm looking forward too seeing dope sneakerhead girls and women out there.

TH: What do you think of the recent Kanye and Adidas news that has surfaced?

YUI: I think he doesn't care if its Nike or Adidas. He just wanted money. He doesn't have a true love for sneakers. He is business man first. I think a lot of people will stop buying his shoes because of it.

TH: Besides sneakers what's your biggest guilty pleasure?

YUI: I like clothing a lot too and Tiffany gold and platinum accessories. When I was in NYC the 5th Ave Tiffany store killed me. Chanel vintage accessories and good food.

TH: Any last words for the people out there?
